One day I walked into a beauty store on my lunch break, and a lady at the counter asked me why don’t you wear eye cream? I asked how could she tell, and she said she just can and she was right! She had me put some on right over my makeup, and it made a world of difference. Ever since, I’ve been hooked.
Skin changes and matures, we might not always like it but why take that chance when you can prevent extra wrinkles or just improve the current condition or your skin. I would say at this time in my life I invest in skin care products the most. I’m 40 years old and starting to realize how much better I feel when my skin looks and feels good. And honestly when I started using the right products for my skin I started to get compliments on my skin and having grown up with severe acne you can’t even imagine how happy this makes me!
The skin under our eyes is very delicate, and that’s where the first signs of aging appear. This reason alone should make you want to go out tonight and buy an eye cream that helps with the problem. And they really do work, just follow the instructions they provide for best results.
WHEN TO START WEARING EYE CREAM
You can start wearing eye cream at any age. Men can use it too. You produce less collagen as you age causing skin to thin. That especially is true around our eyes and neck. You can use your eye cream on your neck as well.
HOW TO APPLY EYE CREAM
Dab the eye cream around your eyes and gently smooth it out and don’t pull down on your skin, whether you are applying the cream to your face, neck, arms or legs…be gentile! If you have puffiness under your eyes, try storing your eye cream in the fridge and possibly the cold temperature of the cream could reduce some of the puffiness.
BEST INGRIDENTS IN EYE CREAM
- Vitamin B3 and Kojic acid help lighten dark circles
- Peptides help boost collagen
- Sodium ascorbate contributes to thicken the skin
MY FAVORITE EYE CREAMS AND EYES MASKS TO TRY
- PolyPeptide Collagel+ Line Lifting HydroGel Mask (Fast and easy to use eye mask, I love this one for once a week)
- Elta MD Renew Eye Gel (I use this every morning before my I apply my makeup)
- Kiehl’s Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream (I use this after I wash off my makeup for the day)
- Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Super Charged Eye Cream (I use this at night)
One thing to note is that every one of these eye creams that I listed has almost no scent. I am allergic to perfume, and these don’t trigger that problem. All of my skin care products are mostly scent free or have a very light scent that does not bother me.
Hopefully this helps you get on the right track with your eye cream regimen, there are lots of things I wish I started long ago, but glad someone gave me some advice early on!
